A lawsuit against a Utah woman who wrote a children’s book about coping with grief after her husband’s death and now stands accused of his fatal poisoning was filed Tuesday, seeking over $13 million in damages for alleged financial wrongdoing before and after his death. The lawsuit was filed against Kouri Richins in state court by Katie Richins, the Official randy Vern John Cash Hank Shirt and I love this sister of Kouri Richins’ late husband Eric Richins. It accuses the woman of taking money from the husband’s bank accounts, diverting money intended to pay his taxes and obtaining a fradulent loan, among other things, before his death in March 2022. Kouri Richins has been charged with murder in her late husband’s death. “Kouri committed the foregoing acts in calculated, systematic fashion and for no reason other than to actualize a horrific endgame — to conceal her ruinous debt, misappropriate assets for the benefit of her personal businesses, orchestrate Eric’s demise, and profit from his passing,” the lawsuit said. An email message sent to Kouri Richins’ attorney, Skye Lazaro, was not immediately returned on Wednesday. Utah mother accused of fatally poisoning husband denied bail JUNE 13, 202302:34 Prosecutors say Kouri Richins, 33, poisoned Eric Richins, 39, by slipping five times the lethal dose of fentanyl into a Moscow mule cocktail she made for him. The mother of three later self-published a children’s book titled “Are You with Me?” about an angel wing-clad deceased father watching over his sons. She promoted it on television and radio, describing the book as a way to help children grieve the loss of a loved one. In the criminal case, the defense has argued that prosecutors “simply accepted” the narrative from Eric Richins’ family that his wife had poisoned him “and worked backward in an effort to support it,” spending about 14 months investigating and not finding sufficient evidence to support their theory. Lazaro has said the prosecution’s case based on Richins’ financial motives proved she was “bad at math,” not that she was guilty of murder.
The stars of “Boy Meets World” got candid about their strained relationship with Ben Savage. In an interview with Variety, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle said their former co-star stopped talking to them out of the Official randy Vern John Cash Hank Shirt and I love this blue and that they haven’t spoken to him in years. Last June, the trio — who portrayed Topanga Lawrence, Shawn Hunter and Eric Matthews, respectively — reunited for “Pod Meets World,” a podcast in which they rewatch their show while sharing their memories from the set. The actors told the outlet that they had originally asked Savage, who portrayed lead Cory Matthews, to be a part of it. “He was very adamant that it was not for him,” Fishel said. “He was also very clear, ‘I don’t want it to stop you. If you guys want to do it, go ahead.’ The time between those conversations and the time we actually started the podcast was a significant amount of time.” “Boy Meets World” ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 2000. The actors were just kids when they starred in the coming-of-age series. They would later reunite for “Girl Meets World,” a Disney Channel spin-off that ran from 2014 to 2017. Fishel said that the during that time and after they would do conventions together before Savage stopped attending. “He just kind of disappeared from our lives,” she said, sharing how her former on-screen husband supported her while her first son was in the NICU in June 2019. “We were just so, so close, especially during that time. He was checking in with me regularly.” Shortly after that, she said, “He ghosted us.” Fishel, Strong and Friedle said they have not spoken to Savage in three years, despite Friedle’s efforts. A rep for Savage did not immediately respond to TODAY.com’s request for comment. “He disappeared — I wish I knew why, to this day,” Friedle
